Hi there
Welcome to my Homepage!
Hi! I’m Xinyu Yan (Tristan), currently a Ph.D. student at College of Computing and Data Science, Nanyang Technological University, where I am fortunate to be supervised by Prof. Wei Yang Bryan Lim. I am also affiliated with the Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL).
My research interests primarily focus on Trustworthy AI (LLM Unlearning, Deepfake Detection) and Efficient AI (Efficient LLM Serving, Edge Computing), as well as other emerging areas in AI. I enjoy exploring diverse research directions and collaborating with researchers across different fields.
Outside of research, I have a deep passion for History and Philosophy, which often inspire the way I think about problems. I am also an avid fan of Anime and enjoy Traveling and Hiking whenever I get the chance 🏔️, as there is something about reaching a summit that feels not too different from finishing a paper.
Please feel free to reach out 🥳, if you are interested in collaboration or potential opportunities!

Mottos
“Man’s dearest possession is life. It is given to him but once, and he must live it so as to feel no torturing regrets for wasted years, never know the burning shame of a mean and petty past; so live that, dying he might say: all my life, all my strength were given to the finest cause in all the world—the fight for the Liberation of Mankind.”
— Nikolai Ostrovsky, How the Steel Was Tempered
“Trust the fact that history will judge events honestly and you will never have to be embarrassed for what your father did. On no account ever be one of those people who criticize but do not follow through their actions. Such people are hypocrites, weak, worthless people who do not have the power to reconcile their beliefs with their actions. I wish you courage, my dear. Be strong in the belief that life is wonderful. Be positive and believe that the Revolution will always win.”
— Sablin's last letter to his son before his execution
